My Review of 2014

2014 has been quite a year - its been my year of learning & progression, having undertaken three different photography workshops around the country & they all bought me different things & have helped me develop my work skills enormously. Next year I will be continuing with my education, I don't think we should ever stop learning and I'm incredibly lucky to be surrounded by some phenomenal newborn & portrait photographers who are so supportive and positive with their feedback and have become great friends.

This year I have also had the privilege to photograph some wonderful weddings, congratulations to all my Brides & Grooms in 2014!

Stephanie & Colin got hitched on March 1st and on Christmas day welcomed baby Gracie to the family, what a fabulous way to end their year!

Amy & Robert got married on May 10th in Fowey, Cornwall and literally stopped the traffic!

All the weddings I photograph are special to me, I'm in a very privileged position to share my couples day but this next one was just that extra bit special as I've known the Bride since she was about 6 years old and there were points where I had to wipe the happy tears hastily away so I could do my job! Charlotte & Lee got married on May 24th

I also managed to catch a bit of 'down time' too!

27 years ago I qualified as an NNEB Nursery Nurse and since then I have worked with babies and children in a lot of different circumstances, as a nanny working all over the world, in a hospital, private nurseries, creches, pre-schools, child minding and of course I had three of my own children so its hardly surprising that my absolute passion is photographing newborns and little children and this year I've had some fabulous little people come & visit me! Combining both my passions is incredible………I LOVE my job!

Until September I had my studio at home which worked well but it got to the point where we couldn't use our dining room because of all my props and photographic equipment so when the opportunity arose to rent a space that I could turn into a studio it really was too good to let go and on September 6th I opened my doors, its been exciting to develop it into an inviting space that allows me to move seamlessly between set-ups.

As well as my younger clients I've also had some slightly older!

So there you go……….it was really difficult to try and choose just a sample of images to sum up 2014! Thank you to everyone who has asked me to photograph them, it's been a really memorable year and capturing those moments in time forever in an image is an absolute privilege.

Here's to a very happy new year and may 2015 be everything you could wish it to be! X
